THE PIED PIPERS-45-“Hey Joe” b/w “Hold On I’m Comin’-WAM Records #848W-S948-KillerKool 1966 Youngstown Ohio Crude Garage-Punk. A side Is a KillerKool version of “Hey Joe” similar to the Leaves’ version with a really primitive fuzz guitar lead break, gutteral lead vocal-GREAT version (aren’t they all?). B side is a trashy version of the Sam & Dave hit with some jagged fuzz guitar throughout...great 2-sider. Great band. Label autographed by ‘the band’-says ‘Best Wishes, The Pied Pipers’ (see photo). Condition: Record is sort of beat up-somewhat G to G+ or possibly better-hard to say--some scuffs and paper scuffs and a couple of small surface scratches visible in certain light angles...ALSO NOTE: A 1-inch HEAT WARP on outer edge-looks like it touched a light bulb and melted a 1-inch length of the outeredge-fortunately DOES NOT hit the grooves-it ALMOST does, but not quite- plays fine amazingly-both sides play great with minimal background noise...
