     The Phonolog we’ve listed here is a great piece of history, yet it’s still very useful.  It can still be used as a reference resource for a variety of pop music enthusiasts, songwriters, musicologists, and vinyl record collectors. It alphabetically lists song titles, and handily displays them on its metal stand. Phonologs were used as a reference tool of the music industry, and the one we’ve listed was truly used. Note the pictures, especially those at the beginning of the Phonolog, that list the various record labels.  Many record label addresses are circled, and have check marks: it was likely used for reference either at a record store or a library. Overall, it’s in good condition, and will make a wonderful display or useful reference.

     FYI: pages of Phonologs were updated continually, as new songs were added. Replacement pages were methodically sent to record stores, for example, so that certain pages were removed and replaced with the new ones. In this way, new songs could be included. The song titles in the Phonolog are listed A-Z: the pages are held in six sections, as if each section was a three ring binder in a notebook. The six sections slide into a sturdy metal stand.  Remember, this particular Phonolog is organized by pop song titles: each song has recording industry information, including artists, record labels, and recorded format info.  

     NOTE:  the condition of the pages varies from page to page, and note various imperfections on the pictures. On some of the pages there's fading or discoloration, and also some edge wear.  But, a good many of the pages are in very good condition too. That said, the paper is stable, and the catalog can still be used and enjoyed. Ask any questions – and brush up on your Phonolog history if you like. It’s all very entertaining, and if you love music memorabilia, you will love this one! The dimensions of this Phonolog, are 20” w X 10” h X 14” d. We will pack it as it is, upright on the stand, and we will pack it carefully, so there will be no need to re-assemble.  Thanks for your interest.
