Description
Visual inspection reveals this to be pristine vinyl with no discernible marks, scuffs or scratches so I make this a confident Near Mint. Cover has a small sticker tear top right front, very light creasing, no rips, spine intact and clear.
(I am selling off a substantial collection of classical records over the coming weeks and months. Probably just 1 or 2 at a time depending on how much time I can devote to it. I am NOT a record dealer but will visually grade all records as honestly as I can. I will be using the Record Collector Grading guide as outlined below with the addition of the accepted Near Mint category: Please note that these records will not have been cleaned by a record cleaning machine and may well benefit from doing so as many are 50 to 60 years old. Gradings are VISUAL unless otherwise stated - records as old as some of these will often need cleaning and there may well be surface noise if playing on high end audiophile equipment. I will not be selling anything that falls into a category below "GOOD")
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
NEAR MINT: The record appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by themEXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
