Der australische Schlagzeuger spielte in mehreren Melbourne-Bands wie Buster Brown und den Coloured Balls, bevor er 1975 zu den Rock-Riesen AC / DC stieß. In den nächsten vier Jahren hatte Rudd mit seinem Drums großen Anteil dem Erfolg von Klassikern wie It s A Long Way To The Top (If You Want To Rock N Roll) T.N.T und Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Phil Rudd ist ein unauslöschlicher Teil der AC / DC Geschichte.


2014 hat Phil Rudd sein erstes Debütalbum Head Job mit den Kiwi Musikern Allan Badger und Geoffrey Martin aufgenommen. Veröffentlicht wurde das Album über die Universal Music Group ausschließlich in Australien und Neuseeland und Promotion Pläne wurden durch rechtliche Probleme in Neuseeland verkürzt. Durch bereits ausgiebig publizierten Probleme (welche für in Phil Rudd mit einer 8-monatigen Hausarrest-Strafe endeten), wurde die weitere Veröffentlichung von Head Job 2014 vereitelt.
I couldn't be bloody happier with Head Job , to tell you the truth kommentierte Phil. I'm so proud of the album, everything I had to do with it. The guys played really well on it, it's just too good. Really great, mate... I'm pretty happy with the drum sound .
Phil ist inzwischen umso mehr entschlossen, alle seine Probleme hinter sich zu lassen und sehr auf einen positiven Lebensstil konzentriert. My hell raising days are over [ inspiriert by Sir John Kirwan the All Black Rugby Legend ] .. Phil hat sich gewandelt und sein Leben den bedeutendsten Dingen in seinem Leben gewidmet, darunter Familie, Freunde und Musik
