Description
Here is a great vintage original Phil Ochs album called "Gunfight At Carnegie Hall".
This is his rarest non-promo record. It was available briefly as a trial run in Canada only, 32 years ago, and sold in extremely small quantities.
As a result, A&M in the US decided not to release it.
The music is from his two Carnegie Hall performances in March 1970.
He appeared on stage wearing an Elvis-style gold lame suit and singing the anti-hippie anthem "Okie From Muskogee".
The shows were received with the same mixture of hostility and elation that Bob Dylan's first electric show was received.
Phil's first show was cut short with a bomb threat. The second show, the crowd cheered until 3 a.m.
Songs include: I Ain't Marchin' Anymore, Chords of Fame, Pleasures of the Harbour, and Tape From California.
The ones that befuddled the folkie crowd were Oakie From Meskogee (sic), Buddy Holly Medley, and Elvis Medley, with alot of funny patter interspersed.

The cover is near mint, with faint wear and a faint crease in the lower right corner.
Great cover art of Phil as a cross between James Bond and Che Guevara.
Back cover is excellent, with minor ringwear and faint stains.
The vinyl is glossy and excellent, with faint surface angel hairs that do not affect play.
Allmusic.com gave it four and a half stars out of five.
A great rare piece of Phil Ochs history.
