Description

This week an interesting selection of psych, acid folk, and novelty LPs. From the sublime to the ridiculous, from the "holy grail" rare to the commonplace. PETER IVERS BAND/ Knight of the Blue Communion. Epic BN 26500. Orig. US 1969 pressing (yellow label). EX- (some seam wear); LP is EX w. some minor scuffs. OK, this has to be one of the most boundary breaking LPs of the time, and that's saying alot. Song based, yes, but with hints of free jazz, experimental electronic tints, bizarre instrumentation (contrabass and bassoon with cabaret rock backing, African American female vocalist). How did the Ivy League Ivers get this released? Glad he did. He went on to make some oddball new wave LPs and helped David Lynch with the soundtrack to Eraserhead. The collage cover of this LP points in those directions as well. Plainly, I really like this record. TERMS OF SALE--PLEASE READ CAREFULLY TO AVOID MISUNDERSTANDING.
