PERTH COUNTY CONSPIRACY (Does Not Exist) - "Rumour 2". (rumour/mushroomusic; *MONO*; 1973; *Canadian issue/pressing). Great private folk psych LP from this Canadian hippie/communal group. Recorded in MONO. Recorded live in Ottawa, Sudbury, and Winnipeg. LP often sounds like Fotheringay or Incredible String Band. Quote from insert: "We were able to bypass the traditional stumbling block - C.B.S. - and produce and distribute this Rumour personally. The music industry generally rips off the artist as badly as the buyer ... Perth County Conspiracy (does not exist) is not an agency band ... contact us direct in Stratford". Songs about drugs, politics, etc. Cuts: "Tune up, Sad stories, The system, Educational rag, Election results, Wiser heads and wild mushrooms, A field trip, Hooray for the farmer, Kingdoms, Comin around the bend - Pastures of plenty (Woody Guthrie), I shout love - Martyrs, Live to die, Earthbound". Total length 40 minutes 20 seconds. *Vinyl is MINT. Issued in a plain white cover with insert for front. Also included is a 1-page insert with info about the LP and some of the bands politics.
