Description

PENNY ROCKETS “Johnny B. Goode” Festival EP RARE Aussie 1950’s ROCK ‘n’ ROLL rockabilly jazz

The Penny Rockets – Johnny B. Goode EP (orig. Australia Festival MONO FX-5055)

Release date: July 1958.

On offer here is an original issue of the only EP by Adelaide-based combo, THE PENNY ROCKETS.  This EP certainly rates as one of the rarest (and earliest) Aussie rock vinyl artefacts from the 1950’s era.  The only other Australian performers that were afforded the luxury of releasing a ROCK ‘n’ ROLL 45 RPM EXTENDED PLAY as early as 1957 or 1958 were JOHNNY O’KEEFE and COL JOYE.
