Description
PAVLO V: Strength of Materials (no label 6983/1979)
Ultra-rarity of the "count the number of known copies on one hand" variety of urban singer-songwriter sounds. Side one is dominated by 70's Dylan moves - nice harmonica, good guitar throughout including some fluid electric leads (no guitarist is credited on the LP, so it may be Pavlo himself). Side 2 has lighter fare, with more eclectic instrumentation (pedal steel on a countryish song, tuba, violin) with occasional 70's light psychy moves. The last track goes back to Bob territory.
The cover is in only Fair condition (water damage across lower portion - tearing on both sides as visible in photos; most of bottom seam is taped; piece of tape on back near top to hold upperseam together; 3/4" split on top seam near opening; dirty spots visible on both sides - see photos).
The record looks VG+ (moderate amount of blemish and scuff marks on both sides). It plays VG+ (intermittent crackling across side 1; side 2 plays with only a couple of spots of any surface noise).
There is a lyric insert, which is in Fair condition (crease alongright side of page; water-staining and scalloping along bottom).
Free shipping anywhere will be included in the Buy It Now option.
See my other auctions for more LP's featured in the Acid Archives books. Many of the ones included are the actual review copies.
GENERAL INFO
SHIPPING: Shipping costs will be quoted based on cost for estimated weight plus $1.00 to cover most of the cost of packing materials.
All records are packed in in between two cardboard filler pads and shipped in professional cardboard mailing boxes. All unsealed 12" records are taken out of their covers to prevent seam splitting. If there is a custom inner sleeve, the record will be put in a separate white inner. If a 7" record comes in a picture sleeve, the same procedure is followed.
GRADING: I grade records both visually and audibly. As grading is so imprecise and subjective, I don't have a set grading description like you see listed in many auction and collector magazines. My grades for records and covers are based on the overall conditions I describe in each auction; I will note any visual defects and (for the vinyl) any non-musical sounds (pops, clicks, skips, etc.).
