Description

  • Paul McCartney released his second album with Wings "Red Rose Speedway" in April 1973 on Apple Records. The album hit No. 1 on the charts as did the single "My Love." It has a bound-in full color 12-page Booklet with photos and lyrics in the gatefold cover.

  • This copy (SMAL-3409) is from the first pressing and is in very good condition. The textured cover has a small nick in the spine but is otherwise easily VG+. It has the raised Braille lettering only embossed on the back cover of first pressings. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Lee Hulko at Sterling Sound in NYC and was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles. The dead wax on Side 1 is etched SMAL-1-3409 Z4 : * STERLING LH 3.

  • In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.  It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture. 

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 49 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws.  Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
