Paul McCartney Ultra Rare RUN DEVIL RUN Jukebox
Only 40 Made Worldwide
Totally Mint Condition, complete with all boxes,inserts and packing.
When the Album Run Devil Run came out EMI commissioned a very limited edition Juke Box to be made to promote the album.
UCS Logistics were given the contract to deliver these items to EMI records in London UK.
I have the packing note that came with the consignment, which clearly states that 40 Promotional Juke boxes were delivered to EMI on 5th October 1999. The album was officially launched on the 4th October, but didn't make its chart entry until the 16th.
The Jukeboxes were used to promote the Album by EMI and were given to Radio Stations and anyone else who would have an impact on this albums success.
This particular one was given to a journalist who met with Paul McCartney at EMI at around the release date to interview him about the album. I am told that Mr McCartney gave the journalist the item at the end of the interview. Apparently the room they were conducting the interview in was like an aladins cave of Beatles and McCartney memorabilia.
The journalist gave the Juke box to a friend who collects such memorabilia, and I have obtained it from this friend who wanted to sell it.
The Juke Box is a classic "Diner"design and it free standing and wall mountable. It is powered by 240V electricity as it was only made for the UK (transformer needed for US Customers)
It is a radio/ and cassette tape player, and comes with the promotional copy of "Run Devil Run"
The finish is chrome . THE PICTURES MAKE IT LOOK A DULL SILVER, BUT IT IS A MIRROR FINISH POLISHED CHROME.
The unit measures 13 inches high, by 12 inches wide. It can be shipped worldwide at a reasonable cost.
The record selector actually works as per an original juke box of this type although none of the selections can actually be made. Behind the "push button selectors" hides the radio Tuner, and the cassette tape fits into the chromes aperture on the right side of the unit.
I don't need to explain how incredibly rare this item is, because only 40 of these were made, and you just do not see these on Ebay at all if ever before.
I am starting this auction at $999, which is a very reasonable starting price for this stunning item. I am prepared to close the auction if I get an offer prior to the end of the auction that I just cannot refuse. So if you really want this item, then you will need to "go for it", and if you are the winner you will have one of the most unique McCartney items in recent history, and just imagine how much this will appreciate over the next 40 years.
