Description

Blue Note Records BLP 1569, this is an original mono pressing of the seminal Paul Chambers LP "Bass On Top". Chamber is joined on this sesion by Kenny Burrell, Hank Jones, & Art Taylor This pressing has the 47 West 63rd NYC address notation on the labels, with the "deep groove" on both sides, in addition to "RVG" and the infamous "ear" symbol etched in the dead wax. There is NO registered mark under the "E" in "Blue Note". Heavy laminated cover is VG+; there is a 2" bottom middle seam split, in addition to some wear to the corners. Top right corner has the remnants of what looks to be some black tape that was covering a small area of edge wear but has peeled off. Side 1 of the vinyl is VG+; there are visible scuffs and paper marks, a few which are rather noticable. Sound quality on this side is still good, but there is a bit of audible background crackle during some portions, most notably the quieter interludes of"Yesterdays". Side 2 is a nice VG++, showing some paper marks and hairlines but nothing worse. Sound quality on this side is excellent throughout. Blue & white labels show some spindle wear, but are still handsome. Overall, a solid original of this scarce jazz LP. . Buyer pays $6.50 shipping in the US, $13.00 airmail overseas.
