Description

Hi, my name is Brian and I have been collecting vinyl for many years. My main interest has been PROGRESSIVE especially the VERTIGO SWIRL/SPIRAL LABEL, reputed to be the most collectable label in the world?

I have finally finished my SWIRL collection of over 160 albums of which most are UK pressings, and now I am going to SELL them ( I must be mad ). I have been quite fussy about the QUALITY, CONDITION and they must be the VERY FIRST PRESSINGS. The latter has been the hardest to decipher and has had me buying and selling many copies of the same album to achieve this,and I almost have with these collectable gems.

I am not and have never been a 'dealer' by profession, but I have always given honest descriptions and lots of clear photo's of any items I have sold. I do know how disappointing it is when you open that package and the item has been over sold with expressions such as "AWSOME" etc when the item is only in EX- condition or worse. If you are in anyway disappointed with an item from me you are most welcome to return it with a FULL REFUND, providing it is an honest and just mistake by myself as I believe in my descriptions.

SO HERE WE GO.......

For sale here is PATTO--HOLD YOUR FIRE-- UK ORIGINAL VERY FIRST PRESSING WITH VERY FIRST PRESSING SLEEVE,1971, stereo 6360 032 The 37 th of 87 UK pressings on this label. 

SLEEVE.....GIMMIXED and UN-LAMINATED. This sleeve is in WONDERFUL CONDITION it almost always turns up with excessive damage, it is extremely delicate due to it's construction of quite a light weight card. This is an out-standing copy of this sleeve , it has that JUST OF THE PRESS look. It is very flat and square.  The edges are N/MINT.The spine is never found straight and fully legible, but this one is!!. The front is N/MINT with NO RUBBING TO THE SURFACE, NO UNWANTED WRITING, NO STICKER TEARS, NO STICKERS, and NO CREASING AT ALL!! TRUELY AMAZING FOR THIS SLEEVE it really is so delicate and fragile, there is some age spots but they are hardly distracting. The rear  is also in wonderful condition just the beginnings of very light ringwear.The opening edges have NO FEATHERING and are AS NEW. The spine is FULLY legible and in great condition. The inside sleeve is in N/MINT condition, there is no transfer of the black ink on to the white  surface of the opposite side, which always seems to happen to these sleeves. The only signs of wear ( and they are extremely minimal) are on the very tips of the corners. This album comes with AN ORIGINALSWIRL INNER SLEEVE in fantastic condition . All in all this is in wonderful condition for a 35year old sleeve. WHEN HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ONE OF THESE IN THIS SORT OF CONDITION??  EX++

LABELS......This is a genuine first pressing with the LARGE B-SIDE SWIRL, this is so very rare that I have only ever seen one other (and I own that one also). The A side label has a printing fault in the form of patchy glazing( see the photo) I am sure this is a manufacturing fault, as my other copy has the same fault, and it does not appear on the later small b-side swirl releases. The B-side is un-blemished. NO WRITING, NO STICKERS, NO RESIDUE OR STAINS. There are a few spindle marks on both sides! This album has been  played and enjoyed on few occasions and with the utmost care. EX++

VINYL....Both sides of this fantastic album still have their JUST PRESSED deep black shine. There are some  very light surface marks, you have to hold this album in the very brightest of lights to see them! . In normal daylight this album is PRISTINE. Both sides play WITHOUT SCRATCHES, CLICKS OR JUMPS. I have played this album on my very sensitive and revealing LINN SONDEK and the sound is UN-WORN, it is full and crisp there is NO loss of sound quality at all, wonderful sound stage and stereo seperation.This is a superb album in the most wonderful of conditions. There are dust crackles but these are minimal and only audible in the quietest parts of the music. These HEAVY VINYL origional pressings are second to none. This really is a top copy that any collector would be delighted to add to their collection, a real KEEPER . ( the very, very few dust crackles could probably be removed by a professional clean ) EX++

THIS IS EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND  IN ANY CONDITION. IT IS SUPER RARE IN THIS 'SUPERB' CONDITION.DONT MISS THIS ONE.

THERE CANT BE MANY LEFT IN THIS  NEAR MINT CONDITION. "STUNNING"
