PATRICIA BARBER "SPLIT" - ALTO ANALOGUE 90747 - 180g
About Premonition
Following a 15-year career that included gigs with such acclaimed jazz and blues artists as James Moody, Eddie Harris, Doc Cheatham, Clark Terry, Joe Williams, Little Jimmy Scott, Gunther Schuller's Ellington Repertory Orchestra and others, drummer Michael Friedman hung up his sticks and launched Premonition Records in August of 1993. The label developed slowly. Its first four years produced four releases, mostly from artists who live and work out of Premonition's base of operations, Chicago, Illinois.
Barber has been in the vanguard of the new school of female jazz vocalists who in the past decade have been exploring intriguing improvisational terrain beyond classic balladry and bop-infused standards. Now considered an audiophile classic, this limited vinyl release from 1989 on Alto Analogue is highly sought after. Half speed mastered by Acoustech Mastering (Stan Ricker)

While the sleeve shows minor signs of wear -mainly to the corners and a small crease on the back, it still has the high gloss finish of a new release! The LP shows no signs of having been played and has been kept in it's original anti-static inner sleeve. We've seen new LPs in worse condition!!!
