A real masterpiece of concrete electronic music from Bernard Parmegiani(that also released "De Natura Sonoris" released on INA-GRM), this is his debut on vinyl back from late 60's/early 70's on french EMI label featuring his composition "Outremer for ondes Martenot and 4 magnetic tapes"(have a look at my other auctions for more musique concrete records!!)
Parmegiani had been researching the electronic music medium back from 1959, when he joined the GRM(=Groupe des Recherches Musicales) of the ORTF. One and only sound material was used : the electronic ondes martenot, but after various transformations and treatments from the composers, the result you can listen is quite different, much more noisy and cold. The ondes martenot were performed from Arlette Sibon-Simonovitch. On the other side of the record, one can find a work from spanish composer Joseph-Maria Mestres-Quadreny "Trois canons en hommage a Galilee", which was composed in the beggining as a piano piece, then Mestres-Qudreny transformed it into a percussion piece and later into an ondes martenot piece. The final version one can listen to here contains ALL 3 versions played together, creating a certain sonic mayhem!! The percussion part is performed from master Sylvio Gualda and the ondes martenot again from Simonovitch. A historic sound document about the evolution of musique concrete and electronic music and one of the most difficult to find recordings of Parmegiani and Gualda, seen for over +200 euros in catalogues and in the want lists of many collectors worldwide!!
Vinyl lies in mint condition(looks new!), while the cover is vg++, as the former owner had taped it on 2 sides to prevent edge wear, which caused some yellowing, practically it's better than vg++!!
