Since their debut mixtape Boy Anonymous in 2021, Paris Texas has made a significant mark with their fusion of punk and hip-hop. Their first studio album, MID AIR, expands on this foundation with an eclectic mix of rap and punk rock. Louie Pastel and Felix showcase their creative talent through dynamic production and introspective lyrics. The album features standout tracks like 'Bullet', which highlights their signature groove, and 'Panice!!!' a high-energy anthem. They experiment with moody post-punk on 'DnD' and 80s pop influences on 'Sean-Jared.' The vocal interplay between Louie and Felix is compelling, with each artist bringing distinct cadences to the table. Mid Air also benefits from features by Kenny Mason and Teezo Touchdown, adding fresh elements to the mix. Lyrically, Paris Texas offers sharp punchlines and personal reflections, enriching their storytelling. With its innovative production and strong lyrical content, Mid Air stands out as one of the year's most accomplished and individual rap albums, a bold debut for sure.
