PAPER DOLL - GET DOWN BOY    Heaveny Star Records (720) 1979

PAPER DOLL 12" GET DOWN BOY  ON HEAVENLY STAR RECORDS 1979
ORIGINAL USA  PRESS PRODUCED BY PETER BROWN AND PATRICK ADAMS
The B-Side label states that it is an instrumental, however it is the same as the A-Side. An incorrect timing of 10:00 is shown on each side.

This record should not be confused with the similar song by The Paper Dolls, published on Tyson Records. A Heavenly Star Records' publication is very rare and has more value. Written and produced by Harvey Miller, arranged by Patrick Adams and promoted by Peter Brown. It's a fantastic 70s disco tune with great vocals.

"Paper Doll was one of several short-lived groups/artists overseen by Patrick Adams and Peter Brown, the two legendary disco maestros who formed Harlem's P&P label and a number of satellite imprints in the mid-'70s. Produced by Brown, the "Get Down Boy" single was released in 1979 on Heavenly Star. Highlighted by exuberant female vocals, a wickedly taut synth line, some weird treatments on the drums, and beautifully elegant touches of strings, the song boasts one of the speedier tempos produced by the P&P camp. It also doubles as one of its buried treasures and should have been a hit on adventurous radio stations across the globe. Though its original vinyl incarnation is all but impossible to track down, the Counterpoint label included it on 1997's Disco Juice compilation, which anthologized Adams and Brown's independent work. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide"
