Description

This is an original 1971 South African pressing on Parlophone Records, catalog number PCSJ 12077/Matrix YPEAX 1053/YPEAX 1054. Normally when this record comes up for sale it is generally only VG+ at best and the sleeve usually shows signs of laminate shedding and ring mark- I have not seen a better copy than this one to date. The pressing plays beautifully with only an occasional hint of sibilance and slight crackle at the beginning of each side as the needle hits the groove- a deep clean should fix that. The records has a wonderful sheen and the spindle holes are clear with one of two very light lines. The cover is a typical South African flip back and shows it`s original vibrant colours with no sign of fading. A strange anomaly is that the bottom flip back seam is coloured black and the top seam is colorless. It`s clear from the coating that this was printed like this- I have not seen another one like this so presume that it may be an end-of-the-print run. There are some light creases and a tiny nick on the opening-the spine is beautiful retaining it`s shape and with both `pinched` ends intact. Grading: record- EX- sleeve EX-.
Due to the rarity and high value of this item plus the unreliability of the South African Post Office this item will only be shipped via door to door courier hence the higher than normal shipping cost. The record will removed from the sleeve and wrapped in bubble pack and together with the sleeve with be encased in cardboard stiffeners and placed in an oversized LP box.
