PRESTIGE PRLP-7200 "STEAMIN'" WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET" MILES DAVIS BERGENFIELD RVG
with JOHN COLTRANE
Original Pressing Miles Davis LP on Prestige Bergenfield, NJ Label w/ RVG & Deep Groove
This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, black on yellow label with Bergenfield, N.J. address Prestige Records, 1961 release of "STEAMIN'" WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET" PRLP-7200 complete with deep grooved label and "RVG" stamped on the trail-off. The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard. His quintet features: JOHN COLTRANE - tenor; RED GARLAND - piano; PAUL CHAMBERS - bass; and PHILLY JOE JONES - drums.
The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it a NM based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks beautiful. There are essentially no visible scratches or scuffs, even from sliding in and out of jacket. This LP looks well cared for and is nearly pristine. Very minimal spindle marks. The original jacket is also beautiful with fully intact glossy laminate front free of any writing, marks, or dings. No ringwear. NO seam splits, and all edges are clean and intact. Some light wear to corners. Back cover is also in great shape. It shows some light wear and toning but free of writing, marks, or dings, except a small price label on the upper right corner. Record ships with non-original vinyl lined inner sleeve. No reserve!
