Up for auction is a rare, highly sought-after original 1988 first European pressing of Guns N' Roses' second studio album, G N' R Lies.
This is the uncensored version, which was quickly pulled from shelves and modified, making this a true collector’s piece.
Key Collector Details:
Original Uncensored Artwork: Features the controversial "Wife-beating has been around for 10,000 years" and "Ladies, welcome to the dark ages" headlines on the front cover.
Inner Sleeve: Includes the rare, original uncensored "nude lady" inner sleeve (later versions were censored with a black bar or replaced).
First Pressing Identification: Manufactured in Germany for Geffen Records. The dead wax (runout) is stamped with "R/S Alsdorf", confirming its status as an authentic 1988 first edition.
Original Hype Stickers: The sleeve still retains the original black oval "4 New Songs" sticker and the white "Contains Language..." warning sticker.
Condition:
The album is still in its original factory shrink wrap, which has preserved the rare hype stickers perfectly. Please note that due to age (off-gassing), the wrap has become slightly tacky and is adhering to the sleeve in some areas. I have left it as-is to preserve the original stickers and integrity for the new owner. The vinyl and inner sleeve are both in excellent condition.
