Description

Original copy of 1954 Sun Records #209, Elvis Presley's first single, in good condition. This is the rare variation with the upside-down 209 directly below "Peer BMI" as shown in the third photo above. This copy also has the three press marks, one of them also shown in the third photo, indicating that this pressing was made in Memphis. The fourth photo shows that the gap between "U-128-45" and "72" etched into the dead wax is approximately 1/2 inch, rather than the 1-inch gap seen in later reissues, as described in this guide on Elvis Sun authenticity:

Record has considerable wear, with scuffs and scratches but plays through skip-free. Labels are intact, though also with wear, with original surface worn away in a few small areas, as shown at the end of the word "Kentucky" in the fifth photo.
