Description
This LP, A Fireside Chat With Lucifer contains sides C -1984SG-9 and D 1984SG-9. This was released simultaneously with the Untitled LP sometimes referred to as the Smile/Happy LP containing sides A-1984SG-9 and B 1984SG-9. (the SG-9 stood for Stargazers 9) These 2 LP's contain songs from the LP Nuclear War which was intended for commercial release back then but not released until after Sun Ra's death, although the song Nuclear War itself was released during the 1980's as a 10 inch single, backed with Smile as I recall. Sun Ra was actually quite crushed when he wasn't able to sell this record to any large record company executives who were less than impressed with the profane lyrics of Nuclear War, he actually thought this could be his breakthrough record. Nevertheless Smile, Sometimes I'm Happy and Nuclear War were songs he played at most of his concerts during the last decade of his life although only his truest fans who purchased El Saturns had the rest of the songs on vinyl. This auction is for the A Fireside Chat With Lucifer LP. This copy has a white cover with pasted on "artwork" xeroxed on a piece of yellow paper, with original shrinkwrap still in place with the record number written on the shrinkwrap, all original. The record is VG++, it sounds great. I don't mind shipping to UK, Europe or Canada but pleased be advised that I only have standard LP mailers. Good Luck Bidding!
