  Original Pressing BILL EVANS TRIO LP  on RIVERSIDE Label 

This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, silver on blue label with reel and mike logo, RIVERSIDE Records, 1959 release of "PORTRAIT IN JAZZ"  RLP 12-315;  complete with deep grooved label.  The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard.  The trio features:  BILL EVANS - piano; SCOTT LAFARO - bass; and PAUL MOTIAN - drums.

The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it a VG++ based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks beautiful.  There are a few very light scratches from sliding in and out of jacket.  Otherwise the record looks fabulous.  No visible spindle marks.  The original jacket front looks nice, free of any writing, or dings.  There is some faint ringwear just beginning to show on bottom, and some very light wear and small scratch.  NO seam splits.  Light wear to corners and edges with small crease on upper right corner.  Back cover is also in great shape, free of  dings, writing, marks, and ringwear.  Some light toning to white areas.  Record ships with non-original  inner sleeve.    No reserve!
