Description

Up for auction is a very, very rare German club pressing of THE DOORS' 1968 classic 'Waiting For The Sun'. This German version was exclusively released for the S*R International bookclub as an ELEKTRA Sonderauflage, i.e. Special Edition. The catalog number of this stereo issue is 92 246. Matrix numbers are: 6 C 92246 A-2 and B-1. This album very rarely turns up even here in Germany. The reord is so rare, that even Ray Manzarek asked me, if this album is a b**tleg album, which it definitely isn't!

What makes this rare record even more desirable is the fact, that the album was beautifully signed in black sharpie by Robbie Krieger and Ray Manzarek in Berlin (GER) on April 13th, 2006. The two former DOORS members played at the Tempodrom in Berlin with their new formation 'Riders On The Storm'. The album was personally signed outside the venue in the late afternoon. Both autographs are 100% genuine! Please see my excellent feedback rating for other signed rock items!

The record is in Excellent condition, there are no visible marks, scratches or any other signs of use. Apart from the occasional background plop the record plays very fine and easily grades VG+.

Both labels are in EXCELLENT condition with very vivid colours and no nasty marks around the spindle-hole (please see scan).

The record sleeve is also in VG+/VG++ condition. There's no heavy creasing, no seam splits, or any writing on the sleeve ? except for the two autographs of course. The unlaminated back is still bright and very white. The laminated front cover shows little wear to the three seams and a tiny bit of feathering towards the opening seam ? though nothing major.

All in all a very decent copy of a very rare DOORS album, which easily grades VG+.
