This is an original promotional copy of One In A Million's 7" CBS single 202513
'Use Your Imagination' b/w 'Hold On'
Released on 6 January 1967 - only one owner!
Collectors will know that this single a genuine monster rarity, much in demand because copies rarely become available. Certainly not in near mint condition like this one.
One in a Million were a Glasgow psych/ freakbeat band notable for featuring a very young (14) Jimmy McCulloch displaying some very mature musical chops. Both sides feature some really nice fuzz-box lead guitar work. Jimmy went on to play with Thunderclap Newman on ‘Something in the Air’, and later joined Paul McCartney in the early incarnation of Wings, before his untimely death in the late 70s.
What makes this item doubly unique is that it's not just a DJ’s promotional copy - which is unusual enough - but it also retains the original accompanying 1967 press release. Making this a very desirable little package.

I've owned this single from new - amazingly - since it was given to me amongst a box of promotional singles in 1967. I was always a bit of a hi-fi nut so I can absolutely vouch for the fact that it's been well looked after and played on reasonable equipment - probably only played half a dozen times. It comes in the original CBS sleeve.
I'm not familiar with the conventions for grading the condition. However as you can see from the pictures the sleeve is clean and in good condition with no writing or pen or pencil marks, and has no other significant marks or tears.
The record itself has no visible blemishes at all that I can see. The label is clean and virtually unmarked, once again with no writing, pen or pencil marks. Although it does have a barely visible, faint printer's 'echo' of the band name and song title on the A side label which obviously occured in the factory manufacturing process (see pic#3). The centre is intact and the spindle hole is perfect. The playing surface has no visible scratches and looks as good as new. The playing surface has no visible scratches and looks as good as new. The reproduction quality is about as good as it got from a 1967 vinyl single pressing - it's never going to be CD quality, but pretty good nevertheless. There's no audible scratches or crackles other than the usual surface noise that you'd get with any new vinyl record. The lead in and play out grooves are clean and glitch-free.
This a very collectable copy of this very rare single.
This record was not a hit so collectors will know that demos and stock copies are very hard to find.
