An early gem from La Protesta -- the hip 70s combo fronted by trumpeter Tony Pabon! Tony's lines are strongly out in the lead on most cuts, as are vocals from Nestor Sanchez, who also sings with Pabon -- and other instrumentation includes additional trumpets, piano, bass, timbales, congas, and bongos! A few tracks warm things up a bit, but the best numbers are the driving, upbeat ones -- which carry an older descarga energy into the leaner salsa generation -- leaving room for a few jazzy touches, but focusing a bit more on the sound of the ensemble. Mint(M) - Absolutely perfect in every way - certainly never played, possibly even sealed.

Near Mint(NM) - A nearly perfect record. Record shows no obvious signs of wear.

Very Good Plus(VG+) - Record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. May have slight signs of wear and slight scuffs and scratches.

Very Good(VG) - A disc similar to VG+ where the defects are more pronounced. Surface noise will be evident, but will not overpower the music.

Good(G) - A record that will play through without skipping, but has significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear.

Fair(F) - Grade between poor and good, obviously. Very heavy damage, though the record should still play.

Poor(P) - A record with heavy damage, probably will skip, and is the worst grade
