Description

Overall this is a very nice copy of a 55+ year old pressing. See below for a detailed description and please see the pictures.
The sleeve: These original Brazilian pressings came with a thin outer photo glued to a card stock near the fold ONLY so it’s hard to find this sleeve WITHOUT tape on the picture like this example so it’s one of the better ones you will find for that reason. I included pictures of how these came with only some glue holding it together at the fold.
The photo has a few ripples, a soft corner, a little fraying at the opening of the fold & a 2 cm spot torn out. Based on how fragile these sleeves are and the age of the sleeve this is a very strong example but based on strict guidelines I grade it a VG.
The vinyl: Keep in mind the vinyl will sound different depending on your system. My conical stylus doesn’t pick up mush surface noise at all. My Ortofon OM30 fine line picks up some more so this will be play graded using the fine line to be conservative.
visually the vinyl has multiple hairlines seen under bright light held at an angle but NO feeler marks can be felt.
Side 1 plays VG with light surface noise that gets drowned out by the music except for parts of Relógio & Senior F. Still never deters my listening pleasure. Side 2 plays VG+ w/light noise in between songs but better than side one. Sounds cleaner.
Overall this is a very good original Brazilian mono priced right! These are shooting up in value due to their recent popularity boom so don’t sit around wait too long as I can see these originals surpassing $800+ routinely very soon.
Please know I am an audiophile that uses proper vintage gear with correct tracking and high end stylus’ on all of my turntables.
