This album needs no introduction to the music lovers and audiophiles who will be bidding here.
Suffice it to say, it is one of a handful of very well-respected records that came out of the high-end audiophile launch in the U.S. during the early to late '70s.
Make no mistake, to say Mr. Levinson is among that elite US corps is to misunderstand that, in fact, he led the way. From setting up the mics, to making equipment, right on through to pressing this record, every level of care was taken. The result, in your living room, will quite astound you. (Just be sure to get the volume right, please, not hesitating at all to achieve in-your-room performance size.)
Side one is of the SIX SCHUBLER CHORALES as played on the organ at Yale, and side 2 offers up a very spacious sound capture of the Battle Chapel Choir singing Bach's PRELUDE IN E MAJOR, REJOICE IN THE LORD, MAGNIFICA by Tallis, LORD LET ME KNOW MINE END by Greene, and O SANCTUM CONVIVIUM by Morales.
And, yes, this stellar copy is the very first Levinson issue on LP, back when Mark was trying to decide if he would press records at all. Fact is, these Blue Labels only showed up at Levinson dealers, of which I was one.
One of the rare originals, the blue-label volume 1, the very first ML issue, here in its plain white cover, platter within will play near mint.
Not to be missed, this is a treasure of vinyl literature.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
