So you always wanted a Ferrari?

(and I'm guessing it'll be a tad cheaper than a Ferrari)

Owned by my good self since 1981, it's an original 1977 Stiff Records "Eddie & The Hot Rods Miss-press" of Damned Damned Damned SEEZ1 by The Damned.

I actually got this off my mates brother who bought it in London in February 1977 when it was released.

And it gets even better Numbnuts because it's in great shape.

So it's time to sell your 1976 Ford Fiesta and shell out the proceeds on the postage for this.

[1] ABOUT THE SLEEVE (See Pics)

The sleeve is actually in great nick (considering what it is)

FRONT SLEEVE: Overall it looks great.

The surface of the front sleeve is clean and still holds its great colour, with just a very few small (hardly noticeable) handling marks.

The colouring of the front sleeve is still IMMENSE even after all these years.

There's a little bit of creasing on the front sleeve towards the bottom right corner (see pics).

Also some slight creasing along the top edges but again nothing to write home about freckles...

REAR SLEEVE: Overall also looks great considering what it is.
There are three hardly noticeable tiny marks.

The white of the cover has started to "turn" off white slightly over the years but, as any owner of an original DDD will know, this happens to most copies unless you store it wrapped in cotton wool in a NASA temperature-controlled vacuum vault. So the off white is to be expected.

SLEEVE EDGES: Again overall these are fine. See the photos.

The Spine Is in great shape.

Still flat with very little creasing.

It reads:

"Seez 1     Damned Damned Damned     MADE AND PRINTED BY PRESS & POST LTD.     Stiff Records"

The "slit" (that's the bit where the record comes out and goes back in Numbnuts) again is fine, there's just a bit of wear at the bottom (see pics)

I have owned this copy since 1981 and its always ever been housed in a black paper inner sleeve which it still lives in.


[2] THE ERRATUM STICKER

This is still clearly readable though it has discoloured a bit with age. I included a close up photo for you Sweet Cheeks.

[3] THE "KETCHUP" DAMNED DAMNED INSERT

Yup, it still has that too (see pics)

So my mates brother, who I got this off in 1981, kept the "Ketchup, Damned Damned" insert too.
He Blu Tack'd (and I think glued) it to an old plastic record protector cover to which it is still affixed.
[4] THE VINYL (I know THIS is all about the SLEEVE, but here you go anyway Grasshopper)

Now as I've already mentioned, I have owned this since 1981 and I have never to this day played it. The guy who I got it off has CDO (OCD in alphabetical order) so I'm damn sure when he did play it he would've been wearing a maids outfit, suspenders and rubber gloves, we'll leave that there.
In Sunlight the vinyl looks spectacular. Like most (even Near Mint records) it will still show a lot of surface marks under bright light.

But once again Kwai Chang Caine, its all about the sleeve tonight.

[5] THE LABELS (I'll not repeat myself about the sleeve)

Basically Numbnuts they look great. And to save me writing any more I've uploaded photos, so don your bifocals and take a butchers.

Just so we can all be cool like Fonzy I'll say the labels are Ex+, the vinyl is VG+ and the sleeve is VG+. This way you should be a very happy chappy if you manage to get your mits on this.
