Description

Hi All, I’ve sorted out a few more choice cuts in the collection for your consideration as well as a few ‘vinyl staples’ for the discerning new entrant to vinyl collecting.  For your consideration we have:

Title: BOB DYLAN BY BOB DYLAN

Cat No: BPG 62022 – MONO

Issue: Original 1962 UK issue on the Matt Orange Rough Textured CBS Label

Vinyl Condition visual: The vinyl grades as VG the vinyl has retained much of its gloss and some of its sheen and is very presentable. There is just one notable but quite light scratch on side 1, other than that there are no unsightly or deep scratches at all, just a few very light marks commensurate with age and grade.  Overall, however, the disc is very clean and all in all, it’s a very presentable copy of what is a wonderful, elusive 1st outing by Dylan.

Vinyl Condition Playback: The vinyl grades as VG-; fairly quiet at the run-in side 1 and a bit of crackle on the run-in to side 2; thereafter it plays back with some mild and low level static, clicks and pops.  Essentially the music covers most of this and even with headphones it’s a fairly decent listen.  Overall there’s little lessening in sound quality and between most tracks it’s quite silent and pleasing.  The vinyl sits perfectly flat on the turntable and plays through with no skips or jumps.

Label Condition: EX; Very nice matt Orange labels showing just the bare minimum of spindle marks.  No writing or damage whatsoever to the labels and all the text is clean and clear.

Cover Front: The front cover grades as VG+; the laminated front is clean and essentially undamaged retaining its shape well.  The central image is clear and the lamination is fine with just some mild creases in a few places and mild ring-wear is evident when held to the light. There are no notable creases/splits to report at all and the top and bottom edges are surprisingly in good order with good lamination and hardly any rubbing at all.  Overall it’s a very decent example of this sleeve.

Cover Back: EX; the unlaminated back is in EX condition being clean and essentially damage free.  One or two very minor age related blemishes some very light ring-wear. The flip-backs are superb, secure and very clean.

Spine: EX; super condition, the spine is intact, clean with good lamination cover; a few very small chips in the top corner at the spine. The spine has retained a good square shape, and the pinched corners are still just evident.  All the text is very legible and clear – you couldn’t wish for better at this grade.

Corners: VG; very mild bumps.

Opening Edge: A few bumps and dings from normal use along the opening edge and a few light ripples, but overall it’s pretty straight.

Inserts/Other: NIL

Summary:  A wonderful collection of songs and another one that was a sheer joy to play and to listen to whilst grading.  There is some light static crackle in places but it’s fairly light.  If you’re in the market for some early Dylan here is your chance to grab a playable copy of his 1st UK offering.  It’s not mint, but overall as a package, disc and cover it is graded as VG and I’m sure the new owner will be delighted with it.

Postage:   With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
