The Damned – Genuine 1977 1st Anniversary Concert Poster
An extremelly rare original poster for the Damned 1st Anniversary Gigs at London's legendary Marquee Club in July 1977. There were 4 dates scheduled but the shows on the 5th and 6th were canceled after an argument with the Marquee management. Evidently The Damned insisted on hanging up a backdrop, designed by Dave Vanian, while the Marquee refused to allow it because it obscured their famous logo. These were the shows where the rare Damned "Stretcher Case Baby" was given out (see the line at the bottom of the poster.) This is an absolutely original poster, printed before the gig and used to advertise it (guaranteed!) It measures 20" x 30" and is in excellent condition, with some folds & minor fraying on the edges in a few places. A beautiful example of a very very rare and historic punk poster.
