Hi All, I’ve sorted out a few more choice cuts in the collection for your consideration as well as a few ‘vinyl staples’ for the discerning new entrant to vinyl collecting.  For your consideration we have:  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Title: THE BEST OF MUDDY WATERS by MUDDY WATERS

Cat No: NPL 28040 – MONO

Issue: Original 1964 issue on the PYE INTERNATIONAL Label.

Vinyl Condition visual: EX; the vinyl has retained much of its gloss and sheen and is a superb example of this scarce Muddy album. There are few, if any, very light scratches of note and only a few light handling marks, finger prints etc.  The disc on both sides is essentially very clean.  Overall this is a very presentable copy of what is a wonderful album and, as such, it is most worthy of the EX grade allocated.

Vinyl Condition Playback: The vinyl grades as EX; almost silent (to my ears) at the run-in, and thereafter the sound delivery is just wonderful.  Minimal static and occasional clicks, ticks or pops in a few places. Even between tracks it is quite silent and a dream to play.  Overall I would say that there is no lessening is sound quality at all - the music is delivered just fab. The vinyl sits perfectly flat on the turntable and plays through with no skips or jumps. This disc will make a Blues aficionado very happy!

Label Condition: EX; lovely clean and crisp labels, no unsightly marks or notable spindle marks at all and no writing or damage whatsoever to the labels.  The matt Yellow and Red labels and black text are all vibrant and clear.

Cover Front: The front cover grades as EX; the laminated front is in wonderful overall shape. It is essentially very clean, undamaged and has retained its shape well.  The central image is clear and the lamination is excellent with just some very mild creases in a few places and a little ring-wear is evident when cover is held to the light. There are no other notable creases/splits to report and the top and bottom edges are surprisingly in wonderful order – Overall it’s an excellent example of this sleeve and I have no hesitation in grading it as EX.

Cover Back: EX; the unlaminated G&L flip-back cover is in VG+ condition being very clean and essentially damage free.  If it were not for the name in black biro it would be EX.  Just a few very light age related marks and minimal light rubbing in places. The flip-backs are secure and very clean.  The white areas are still quite vibrant.

Spine: EX; the spine is intact, clean with good lamination cover. It has retained a very good square shape and all the text is very legible and clear – this is a super spine.

Corners: VG; very mild and gentle knocks but essentially still quite square and sharp.

Opening Edge: A super and very straight edge with minimal very light bumps from normal use. No splits or tears.

Inserts/Other:

Summary:  Oh boy, the great Hoochie Coochie - Muddy Waters. This is a difficult one to find, many I located were totally trashed.  I’ve owned this for about 15 yrs and have cherished it. It was a sheer joy to play and to listen to once again for play grading and I’m convinced the new owner will be delighted with it.  If you’re seeking a copy of this wonderful album, do yourself a favour and grab this copy whilst it’s available.

Postage:   With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
