ORIG UK EMI SAX 1 MILSTEIN MUSIC OF OLD RUSSIA NM

Beautiful copy of this fabulous record on the original UK Columbia/EMI ER 1 "Magic Notes" label (see picture) SAX 2563 "Music of Old Russia" played by Nathan Milstein. The vinyl retains all its original luster and is virtually flawless with some very faint sleeve marks visible on side one under bright light and the inevitable faint signs of normal handling. The fidelity is superb – I auditioned this through headphones on an unforgiving system and noted 2-3 non-consecutive clicks on one side and 3 consecutive clicks on the first track of side 2. I can see no visual cause for these and it may be in the pressing. There is no breakup on loud passages whatsoever and the stereo separation and dynamics are absolutely superb, one of the great EMIs from the period. The cover with the beautiful Ben Shawn graphic is in excellent condition, there is very light wear to the four corners (visible in the photo) and a few soft wrinkles and very light signs of storage on the soft cover, no writing, no splits, no stickers etc. The original owner played it once, to record on a Revox reel-to-reel. Original EMI inner sleeve included.

A NOTE ON SHIPPING COSTS: Swiss postal rates have NOT gone up, but the dollar has lost some one-third of its value in relation to the franc as well as the euro and the Swiss post office is very strict about weight. Well packaged the shipping weight of this lp will exceed 500 grams, the cost of priority air mail is is therefore 21 CHF, or 17.50 dollars for Europe, and 33 CHF or 27.50 dollars for the rest of the world priority, non-priority is CHF 12 (10$) for Europe and CHF 18 (15$) for the rest of the world. For buyers outside Europe, I would recommend this last option. THESE ARE ACTUAL COSTS, AT CURRENT EXCHANGE RATES, THERE ARE NO SPURIOUS HANDLING CHARGES, BUT PLEASE BEAR THE COST OF SHIPPING IN MIND WHEN YOU BID.

I will not ship this record without registering/insuring it. It only costs 6$ to register a package and insure it up to CHF 150 or ca. 125 US$ with the Swiss postal system, this provides a tracking number and guarantees against theft, loss or damage, additional insurance for more expensive items can also be purchased at only slightly more. Registering the shipment with this item is mandatory, please bear the cost (6 dollars) in mind when bidding.

More rare vinyl for sale - thanks for looking.
