Organum "Gloria / Lysis / Kanroku" K7 privately issued by David Jackman (no catalogue number) in the UK, 1995. Unique tape, only one copy exists! Original signed handmade sleeve. ****** Tape:m / Cov:m ****** I got this tape directly from David Jackman in 1995 who wanted to inform me about his brand new "Gloria" and "Lysis" 7" as well as give me a preview of the "Kanroku" soon to be published 12". As far as i know this is a unique signed copy, the only version on tape of these Organum pieces. Here are some info about the vinyl editions: "Gloria" was a 1-sided 7" record with black & white fold-out cover. David Jackman’s signature in silver ink on label (same as the tape offered here). 150 copies were intended to be pressed, however severe pressing problems resulted in only 56 copies being of acceptable quality on the third attempt and 57 copies on the fifth pressing attempt - hence only 113 copies. "Lysis" was a 1-sided 7" record in plain white card sleeve with a colour sticker on the front. Back cover featured David Jackman’s signature in silver with the record number stamped underneath. This track was the first ever Organum studio recording (from 1984) and had lain unreleased for 10 years. Original master accidentally destroyed. "Kanroku" was a 1-sided 12" record in shiny-black die-cut disco sleeve. Electronics and microphone feedback by David Jackman. Produced and mixed by Robert Hampson with David Jackman. Some of the sounds appearing on "Kanroku" were sourced from two copies of the very first Organum release, "Pulp/Icon". The word "kanroku" is Japanese for "dignity and presence".
