I use the Oldie-Markt grading for my Records

M = Mint : The record / cover is in each way, optical and acoustical, like new. There is no surface noise of any kind.----------

VG = Very Good :The record is used and has slight surface noise.Slight scratches may be seen, but only very hard to hear. The cover shows slight traces of wear. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

G = Good : The record is well used.Surface noises show up like small scratches or hiss, that result from repeated listening.Yet a G-record is still playable good and surely worth to be bought. The cover shows definite wear like small tears or coulor spots (made by ink, stamp, traces of tear or restoration by felt- and colour pencil) .---------------------------------------

W = Worn : here start the gradings of records, that are in bad shape. They are very often played.Scratches, surfaces noises and hiss are clearly audible,A purchase noises of such a record is worthwhile only in the case of a very rare record,to complete your collection. The cover is strongly damaged, often torn or soiled ( by adhesive, strong spots of waterresistent ballpens and other things like that.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

F = Fair : The record is acoustical worthless, because it basically can't be played.A purchase of such a record makes no sense only for your archive. The cover is torn or not complete.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

+(plus ) or - (minus ) Affixes : They are put to one of the explained gradings,if the record / cover is not clearly attached to one of the gradings .For instance:If the record is better than VG,but not good enough for M,the correct grading would be VG+.Is it more to the Mint - than the VG + grading ,then the record grading would be M -.------------------
