- Label & Cat #: 1982 Alternative Tentacles – VIRUS 14 *All Purple Labels
- Vinyl Grade: Very Good (VG) play graded *46 of the 47 tracks play VG+ (or better) with barely any noise disturbances, the exception being the Naked Lady Wrestlers track "Dan With The Mellow Hair" which does actually play VG with some light background ticking. The other reason for the downgrade is the visual appearance of the vinyl itself, which displays numerous superficial micro scratches and marks. Overall, a kickass sounding record that captures the true hardcore punk scene of the era!
- Cover Grade: Very Good Plus (VG+) *jacket has light shelf wear that includes a cut corner top rh, mild seam wear (a bit heavier on top seam), and some creasing. Includes one custom inner sleeve with a history of the Northern California punk scene that is in excellent shape with small split on center of bottom seam.
- Notes: This originally issue of the two-LP set from 1983 is one of the defining documents of the West Coast punk scene and the subtitle succinctly describes the album as "Deprogramming by 47 Northern California & Nevada bands". As such, it was also hardcore punk's swan song, arguably the last relatively unselfconscious expression of a naively nihilistic and homogeneously noncomformist youth subculture that was designed to fall apart. Of the bands represented here, which ones still exist? None, although Flipper and the Dead Kennedys have secured a place in pop music history and there may still be shreds of Millions of Dead Cops touring around. Bad Posture's charmingly acronymic "GDSMFSOB" is worth noting, as are Flipper's sludgy "Sacrifice" and M.A.D.'s "Holocaust." "Collapse," by Ribsy, clocks in at a nice, succinct 48 seconds and also included is "Fuck Your Amerika" by 7 Seconds.

GRADING STANDARDS: (M) Mint: Record and cover appear absolutely perfect in every way. Grade is seldom used, even with sealed albums where the record itself can only be assumed to be mint.
(NM) Near Mint: Vinyl is shiny with no obvious signs of wear and plays perfectly with no audible imperfections. Cover is close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident.
(EX or VG++) Excellent /Very Good ++: Record or jacket has a minimum of audible or visual imperfections. Vinyl has been handled and played very carefully. Light paper scuffs and/or spindle marks may be visible with no appreciable lessening in sound quality. Covers show very minor signs of handling and wear.
(VG+) Very Good Plus: Record displays light scuffs, spindle marks or very light scratches that may create some noise disturbances, but don't affect one's overall listening experience. Jacket begins to show more prominent signs of storage wear and aging.
(VG) Very Good: Defects are more pronounced with visible signs of handling and playing. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially during soft passages and a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, although none of the flaws should be overwhelming.
(G) Good / (G+)Good Plus: Vinyl will have scratches and visible groove wear. Record plays without skipping, although noticeable surface noise or ticks will be heard. Jackets have even more pronounced defects such as seam splits, tape, writing, ring wear, water damage or other defects.
