Nirvana In Utero LP Steve Albini mix MINT unplayed

For sale is a MINT unplayed copy of In Utero from the 2008 UK 180g Back to Black pressing.
This is the Steve Albini mix, not the usual Scott Litt mixes heard normally.

According to Krist Novoselic:

"But you know why we had to remix Heart-Shaped Box? You should hear the original version of that song, the guitar solo has this effect on it, it just sabotages the whole song. Steve and Kurt were colluding! I would go to Kurt, Why are you sabotaging this beautiful song by putting this hideous abortion in the centre of it? He'd be like, 'Well, I think it sounds cool.' I don't even remember what their arguments were. Some statement against commercial radio or something, the popular mainstream aesthetic... I dunno! I guess I finally, got my way. Scott Litt was an opportunity to change things."

This "320 stamper" pressing is the best you'll have heard this album so far and I highly recommend tracking down a copy of "Nevermind" as well. It too is so much better than any other pressing out there including the Simply Vinyl, MOFI 200g, Gold CD, etc., etc.

I would have listed this as "STILL SEALED" but I opened it to compare it with my other copy of In Utero, not realizing that the copy I already had was the same Albini mix!! So I confirmed that the deadwax info was the same and put it back in its sleeve.

By the looks of some of the other ridiculously priced auctions on here, you might be able to get this at a reasonable price here, so good luck!

Despite the different mixes, this pressing absolutely blows away the other pressings of In Utero and you can confirm as much at any online forums, like the Steve Hoffman forums. This is the same pressing as the 90's German pressing, the 320 stamper. You haven't heard Nirvana until you've heard these 320 stamper pressings, they are HOT!

Here is a You Tube video of the guitar solo from Heart Shaped Box which clearly shows the difference between the Scott Litt mix on the CD and the Steve Albini mix on this vinyl pressing. The Albini mix is not on the US B2B presing, only the UK one that lists MADE IN THE EU on the back.

I know, I incorrectly call Litt "Steve Litt" instead of "Scott Litt" but sue me, I wasn't paying attention to that part. =D

The difference in the guitar solo on Heart Shaped Box is very noticeable. The Scott Litt mix is quite subdued, normal sounding distortion whereas the Albini mix is abrasive, warbling, overdrive, extremely satisfying to crank up and certainly the other guys in the band should have left this as it was, it's much more "Nirvana" sounding, more live.

If you are considering ordering this item and you live outside North America...you should know that Canada Post charges exorbitant rates. It's cheaper to chip a package with USPS from New York to Australia than it is to ship it 100km within Canada with Canada Post. So I warn you in advance...I don't make money off the shipping, it just really is that expensive with Canada Post.
