Description
Here's one of the rarer Nirvana items out there. The mispressed, aka 'defective' 1st Sub>Pop issue of Bleach (SP34a). I've only seen 1 or 2 of these pop up over the years. Still not too sure what your looking at? Read on... Here's how Jack Endino describes it : "In 1989, after Bleach had come out on vinyl, Sub Pop licensed two of the songs to Tupelo in England for the Blew EP. Two other songs recorded by Steve Fisk were added for this UK-only 4-song EP, now prized by collectors. But... to do this, S>P had to have someone (not me!) splice the two songs 'Blew' and 'Love Buzz' OUT of the master reels for the Bleach album. Somewhat later... S>P decided it would be worth it to make cassettes of Bleach, so they sent the Bleach master tapes off to the plant... forgetting that those two songs were elsewhere. The cassettes came back, short two songs; and the mistake was discovered to be S>P's, so the company had to, uh, eat them. They gave away a bunch and the rest went into the garbage. Bruce (Pavitt) gave me a shoebox full of them with the thought that I could re-use them down at the studio. They make great answering-machine cassettes too. It's just a black lo-bias cassette with the songs (even the two missing ones) listed in that 'Nirvana' typeface, however there are no boxes (those were reused)." We'll I was wise enough to grab a couple of these from one of Jack's famous on-line garage sales a few years back. Is it as rare as the white vinyl Bleach or perhaps a real Love Buzz 7"? Im not too sure, but i can say that there isnt too many of these out there. I dont recall ever seeing one here on ebay, although Im not much of a Nirvana collector anymore. Which is good for you. Here's your chance to get that missing piece in your Nirvana collection. Dont miss out! Shipping & Handling: PayPal preferred, but I do accept money orders. All items are mailed using NEW bubble packs/boxes. Item will be shipped within 7 days of payment via Priority US Mail. Seller assumes no responsability once the package is mailed if insurance is declined. Will be more than happy to provide delivery confirmation for an additional 55 cents. Bid with confidence & trust.
