Description
I had a little rummage through some old boxes and came up with a number of items that may be of interest to some people.
The auction comprises:
1 x 12" Single of Stars
1 x 7" Single of Stars
1x Original acetate of Stars 7-inch
OK, history on all of the above. The 7" and 12" singles are the original records given to me by the record company once it had been pressed. At the time, it was a truly exciting day for me because with the help of Gary, I had finally released a record. Other singles and albums were due to follow and some of the material was already recorded but for a couple of reasons, it was never to be.
The acetate is from Strawberry Mastering Studios and is my approved master of STars 7-inch. It also appears to have something on the other side which is probably redundant as I recognise my own handwriting at the time, stating "Test Cut, Do Not Use". If anyone is wondering what happened to the acetate of Stars 12-inch, I can confirm that it is probably now lost as I gave it to my then keyboard player and co-writer, Andrew Hale.
Condition-wise, it is difficult to comment as I no longer have a record-player and these items are now 30 years old but I am assuming all items will play OK as I don't ever remember using them myself. The covers of all items are in reasonable shape and condition is pretty much as shown in the photos.
If it makes any difference to potential bidders, I am very happy to sign any or all of the above, or not!
