‘Fruit Tree’.
NICK DRAKES RAREST AND MOST SOUGHT AFTER BOX SET
What makes this unique is that the LPS are in a box adapted for both CDs or vinyl, and in this instance a white Sticker on the green (not purple as others) front cover advises:
‘Vinyl Edition Contains 4 LPS HNBX 5302.’
That means the ORIGINAL UK vinyl 1986 Stereo 1st pressings on Joe Boyd’s wonderful Hannibal label. This was obviously a DJ copy for radio stations not then fully up-to date with the ‘new’ CD technology.
I would therefore say this 4-LP BOX SET is almost impossible to find, especially in this condition.
CONTAINS OVER 40 TRACKS, 100% COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL BOOKLET & 4 PICTURE RECORD INNER COVERS (‘Five Leaves Left’, ‘Bryter Later’, ‘Pink Moon’ and ‘Time of No Reply’ ALL wonderfully packed and presented in this green bordered hinged outer box.
The record labels to ALL records are in SUPERB condition with NO writing, NO wear, and no spindle marks, probably never played. The vinyl is in mint condition. No hairlines, all records still retain their ‘just pressed’ sheen. Obviously then, there is no sticking, jumping, or hiss. The sound quality is as you would expect from new vinyl: superb.
Grade mint.
The records come in their ORIGINAL 1st Press ‘Picture’ Inner Covers which, apart from one miniscule smudge on Booklet and Bryter Later (and I'm being really picky, but honest here), I would again grade near mint. These marks would be perfectly acceptable on brand new copies. There are no splits, rips or tears, there is no rubbing or writing anywhere.
The outer Box is also in similar condition apart from some minor shelf handling wear on bottom edge and corners. There is no spinal wear and are no splits at the corners. It still retains a perfect box shape, hinge is fine and undamaged, and a near fine front face, with the unique round ‘VINYL Edition’ sticker. Even the inside of the box is in first class condition.
A near mint set.
Again I have to say this is an incredibly rare set and virtually impossible to find in this condition.
