The time has come to unload my 6000+ collection. This will take some time but I STRONGLY SUGGEST reading this and following me if it’s understood.
I have been collecting for FORTY YEARS. I have been working/managing record stores since 1991. Two of which are VERY NOTORIOUS. I’ve had access to PRIMO stuff that entire time and NEVER gave up on vinyl. That said, I didn’t sweat replacing things I already owned if the vinyl was flawless.
MEANING: NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF WAX I OWN IS BELOW VG+
MY GRADING GOES LIKE THIS and YOU’RE EITHER ON BOARD OR NOT:
- NOTHING is MINT if it’s UNSEALED
- NEAR MINT means I opened it myself and played it once to WAV/FLAC (depending on the time when that happened) or I know its origin and it is clearly devoid of noise during playback.
- VG+ means it might have visible scuffs AND/OR light “noise” that DO NOT AFFECT MUSIC as in, there’s light fuzzy lead-in/outs or in-between tracks and even then, VERY MINIMAL
- I have OCD so ANYTHING that popped/clicked during playback was destroyed. Yes, really
I playgraded my ENTIRE collection during COVID where just about everything was recorded to FLAC. 6TBs. FACT.
ALSO, EVERYTHING is catalogued properly on DISCOGS. So, I’m not wasting time listing matrices/run-outs unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. If I say it’s 2nd Print, that means I know for a fact that it is.
I was part of DISCOGS’ Beta-testing and started here on eBay in the fall of ‘97. This has been my life. I stopped selling vinyl on eBay around 2016 when the newbies entered the vinyl world and brought hipster lunacy along with them. I DO NOT SHIP slabs outside of their jackets UNLESS you specifically request. This DID NOT happen prior to the 2010’s fact, period, the end. I’ve had far more newbies send records that way with cracked vinyl upon arrival than I’ve had seam-splits upon arrival.
If I say it’s VG+ and you see scuffs, that’s explained above. DO NOT EXPECT NEAR MINT if it’s not listed as such. Things like that…🤦♂️🤮

EVERYTHING listed here will ALSO be on DISCOGS. “WATCH” all you want but the current application of that…hoping for a discount…isn’t happening. These are all being priced well below average for their grade and remember, eBay takes 15%. I travel the country regularly, internationally once a year, a FULL day is ALWAYS educated to crate digging and price comparing. I also reside in NYC. I know exactly what prices are being charged out in the wild. Mine are an absolute STEAL by comparison. Brooklyn….YIKES!?!.
Sorry if that sounds heavy-handed but all of the above were regular occurrences for several months. Sadly, those people have now found DISCOGS. I’m out.

- Very light scuffs that DNAP
- Minimal creasing on the jacket
- Pics taken in super bright sunlight (UV Protected Window). Ultrasonically cleaned & play-tested post, DNAP
