LP a copertina apribile, a 10 tracce, pubblicato nel 1972, con inserto lucido di 4 pagine riportante i testi in inglese. OBI a colori a sfondo bianco e verde, riportante il prezzo di yen 2.500.

Harvest è il suo quarto album in studio , pubblicato nel 1972. La semplicità della copertina si contrappone alla moltitudine di sonorità che compongono uno degli album più apprezzati e venduti di sempre e considerato tra i cento più belli della musica secondo la rivista Rolling Stone. Bestseller nell'anno di pubblicazione, vanta la partecipazione di ospiti di grande levatura, tra i quali la London Symphony Orchestra, Linda Ronstadt, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash e James Taylor. Harvest fu anche numero uno nella classifica di Billboard (Nord America) per gli album pop. Neil Young aveva reclutato un nuovo gruppo di musicisti country, che battezzò The Stray Gators e aveva registrato un lavoro di stampo interamente country, anticipando - in un certo senso - la moda che di lì a poco avrebbe portato al successo gruppi come gli Eagles. Con Harvest Neil Young riuscì ad ottenere un grande successo sia per l'intero album che per i singoli contenuti, primo fra tutti Heart Of Gold, l'unico numero uno di Neil Young nelle classifiche degli Stati Uniti. Le altre canzoni riportavano ad alcuni dei temi cari al cantautore canadese: "Alabama" per il razzismo,"The needle and the damage done" per la droga. Nel fortunato album spiccano insomma canzoni fra le più note di Young come Words, che consisteva in un lungo dialogo della chitarra con il resto della band e The Needle and the Damage Done che narrava la fine di Danny Whitten nella dipendenza dall'eroina; A man needs a maid narra della passione di Neil Young per un'attrice che in un film interpretavava la cameriera (maid), e soprattutto la splendida e sognante Harvest. C'è una grande differenza tra il lato A del disco e quello B: il primo lato è molto più tradizionale e musicalmente conservatore del secondo, esalta la campagna rispetto alla città e i valori e i ruoli familiari (anche se con una ironia non sempre colta dagli estimatori del country), il lavoro, l'attaccamento al proprio paese; nel secondo lato si affrontano temi meno facili, come la droga, il razzismo, la depressione, la vecchiaia. In Alabama Young criticava lo stato dell'Alabama soprattutto per quanto concerne il perdurante razzismo, ma per questa canzone il rocker canadese ricevette numerose critiche sia dal mondo politico che da quello artistico. La prova più evidente è nella risposta - marcatamente nazionalistica - da parte dei Lynyrd Skynyrd con la loro Sweet Home Alabama del 1974. "Well I heard mister Young sing about her Well, I heard ole Neil put her down Well,I hope Neil Young will remember A Southern man don't need him around any how". (Ho sentito il signor Young cantare di lei. Harvest is his fourth studio album, released in 1972. The simplicity of the cover opposed to the multitude of sounds that make up one of the albums and sold more popular than ever and considered one of the hundred most beautiful music by Rolling Stone.
