Description

Neil Young Decade

Triple album covering 35 Neil Young songs recorded between 1966 and 1976 - hence the title. "Decade" arrived in the autumn of 1977 as a 3LP set in an elaborate gatefold sleeve complete with inner flap and (barely legible) handwritten liner notes.

Published 1977, Reprise label K64037 (3RS 2257)

UK early press K 64037: A3 ALLEN/ B3 ALLEN; C4 ALLEN/ D3 ALLEN; E5 ALLEN/ F3 ALLEN

Sleeve:  Double gatefold sleeve. The cover has wear around the edges and ringwear but it looks worse than it actually is with no rips, tears or writing. Graded VG+

Original inner sleeves

Labels: Original grooved yellow Reprise labels, all clean, no writing etc., - see photos EX

Vinyl: Visually all sides retain their original deep gloss; record 1, S2 has a small scuff other than that there are some (very few) small wispy lines from sleeve removal only - all sides graded between Ex and Ex+

S1 Ex+ / S2 EX+,   S3EX+  / S4 EX+, S5 EX+/S6 EX+

Audio: Decent sound/audio separation plays through clean with just the odd random tick, nothing that interferes at all, no sticks, skips, jumps or distortion - all 3 are graded minimum Ex

I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I am a collector of 40+ years the few records I sell are either the result of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again. If anything is not as expected (or should you not agree with my grading) please contact me straight away, and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument. Feedback: On receiving goods please let me know if you have any questions, otherwise kindly leave positive feedback and I will do likewise on receipt - thank you.

I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
