Description

This is a 4 record box set consisting of three 12 inch disc and one 10 inch disc.  This is Vol 16 of the legendary series of live jazz concerts which were produced by Norman Granz.

 

Strictly graded (visually and audibly); GOLDMINE grading standards

TITLE                        NORMAN GRANZ’ JAZZ AT THE PHILHARMONIC Vol 16              

 

CONDITION            Visually, the vinyl is a very well preserved VG++ with some superficial handling marks.  I spot play graded and found that it played with strong fidelity and minimal audio interference (an occasional pop or click) but nothing that I would consider in any way detrimental to the listening enjoyment of these records.

 

The box has not fared as well.  The front graphics are clear and the face of the box is unmarked.  There is a small tear on the spine.  There is a split on one of the side panels and there is a portion of the panel torn away (missing).  There is also a split on the bottom portion of the side panel on the lower portion of the box (same side). 

 

COMMENTS                         Contains the rare individual photos of the artists featured on these discs.  The 13 black and white photos are 8¼ inches X 10½ inches and include pictures of:

Ray Brown, Benny Carter, Roy Eldridge, Herb Ellis. Bill Harris, J C Heard, Gene Krupa, Oscar Peterson, Flip Phillips, Charlie Shavers, Willie Smith, Ben Webster and Lester Young.  All are remarkably well preserved with no crease marks.  Some have some extremely minor wear at the corners.
