Man, I fkn loved Gasp. They blazed a trail that everyone else was too scared to even follow. Just amazing. Awesome people, too. The other side is a song I literally woke up at like 4am and just wrote. Usually I'd bring some half-assed riff to practice and we'd beat it to death until we were all equally dissatisfied with it. This time I showed up with the disappointment all ready to go! Now, I'm no musical genius like Taylor Swift or the guy from that commercial, so I'm not saying this song is worth hearing, but that's the only time a whole song come outta me all at once. I felt like Randy Newman or Teevee Steve (I don't remember Teevee Steve's real name, but he's like, one of those songwriter types). It's one of our more upbeat tunes, so I made the lyrics about how my existence depends on the suffering of huge swaths of humanity all around the world. Then I went back to wasting food, driving my car, generating plastic waste. You know, living as an American. As a failed human.
Anyway, 200 copies were pressed on red vinyl. I stashed this one when it came out. It is unplayed. Cover is an homage to the epic doom metal masterpiece, "Strawberry Shortcake's Country Jamboree."
