PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.



When people I meet find out I'm a record collector, I'm most often met with a blank stare when I answer the inevitable "What's you're favorite album?" question.  "ZZ Top's First album" is my response.  "What's it called?" is usually the next question, meaning I have to repeat the answer to the first question.  One of the best kept secrets in classic rock history, ZZ Top's First Album gets absolutely zero radio time (at least here in Chicago) and is easily their best album in this not-so-humble collector's opinion.  If you've never heard this LP find some soundclips on Youtube of songs like Bedroom Thang, Neighbor, Neighbor, Brown Sugar, the scorching blues of Just Got Back From Baby's...literally every song on this LP is a winner and handily edges out signature LPs Tres Hombres & Fandango in terms of sheer hard hillbilly boogie blues rock.  There's also just something about the FEELING in these songs that simply sounds more authentic than any of their LPs that came after this one.  Rarely do I dole out this kind of praise on any LP but if ever there was one that warrants it, it's this one.  You will not be disappointed.  This copy is a RARE Warner Brothers striped, off-white label Jacksonville pressing from 1978!!  LP is STUNNING near mint minus and cover is VG+ with a hint of ring.
