"Lets Get Together" / "Grubbs Blues"
THIS IS A VERY RARE 7" SINGLE
Side A : Let's Get Together (Chet Powers) 2:29
Side B : Grubb's Blues (Nils Lothgrin) 2:25 - note the odd surname to writer?
An exert from my own Nils Lofgren web site (www.shinesilently.com) regarding this rare single:
From an email from Bob Barr reminiscing about 1968;
'The photo (http://www.shinesilently.com/clip_image001.jpg) is of The Shot from high school days, Butch/Sid Sithens on drums and Scott Ball on Base. This band was really great! The photo is from a DC newspaper (don't recall which one) and I kept it in part because the head at bottom left is mine. The shorter person next to me is Bob Grubb, after whom Nils named his first published song (Grubb's Blues). This was one of many concerts where Nils got us in free - we would help carry equipment in the days before Nils had roadies.'
'If memory serves me, "Grubbs Blues" was not written with Bob Grubb in mind. Rather, we were all at Bob's house one day (the three of us lived near each other) and Nils was exited to tell us he was going to have a song on the "B" side of a record, but he didn't have a name for it. Bob said, "Name it after me."
7" 45rpm single in excellent condition - no scratches and unwarped. A must for any Nils Lofgren collection or fans of psychedelia.
