Description
A rare White Label Promo copy of Nicolette Larson’s breakout hit "Lotta Love". This 1978 original US radio promotional pressing features official White Labels, the rare "Disco Stereo Mix" text, and authentic Rainbo Records matrix etchings (S-6631 / S-6632) in the dead wax. A definitive weapon for underground club DJs and high-end audio collectors!
Before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Nicolette Larson was a highly respected session vocalist, famously providing the iconic backing harmonies on Neil Young's 1977 masterpiece American Stars 'N Bars and his Comes a Time album. Recognizing her incredible talent, Young gifted her his unreleased composition, "Lotta Love."
Produced by the legendary Ted Templeman (the mastermind behind The Doobie Brothers and Van Halen) and engineered by Donn Landee, Larson’s recording became a massive global smash, soaring to #1 on the Billboard Easy Listening chart.
To break the track into the legendary late-1970s New York club scene, Warner Bros. commissioned iconic DJ and remix pioneer Jim Burgess to create an exclusive, extended 12-inch disco mix. Burgess seamlessly blended acoustic soft-rock sensibilities with a rolling, infectious disco bassline, sparkling string arrangements by Jimmie Haskell, and a soaring flute/sax solo. The result became an immediate anthem at clubs like the Saint and the Paradise Garage, later cementing itself as a definitive cornerstone of the European "Balearic" groove movement.
