Description

THIS IS THE FIRST UK ISSUE AND FIRST PRESSING OF NICK DRAKE’S “PINK MOON” LP AND IS SERIOUSLY RARE IN THIS CONDITION! THIS WAS THE THIRD NICK DRAKE LP AND I BOUGHT IT WHEN IT CAME OUT IN 1972. THE VINYL IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION. THE COVER IS IN AMAZING CONDITION FOR ITS AGE.  DONT MISS THIS VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY!

The Catalogue Number is ILPS 9184 on the ORIGINAL palm tree Island label (see picture) and is the original stereo UK first issue with matrix numbers ILPS 9184 A-1U and ILPS 9184 B-1U.

Tracks are:

The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see picture) with NO wear, NO writing, and NO spindle marks. I BOUGHT THIS RECORD WHEN IT CAME OUT AND IT HAS HARDLY BEEN PLAYED AND THEN ONLY ON TOP QUALITY HI-FI EQUIPMENT. The vinyl is in SUPERB condition with NO scratches, NO scuff marks and NO signs of wear. THE RECORD STILL RETAINS EVERY BIT OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK! The record sounds as STUNNING as the visual! It plays with CRYSTAL CLEAR UNDISTORTED SOUND, NO sticking, NO groovewear, NO jumps, and NO background crackle and pop! A remarkably “clean” pressing! The record plays SUPERBLY with ZERO DISTORTION! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way! Brilliant!!

The original gatefold cover is in OUTSTANDING condition! It has NO edge wear except to the very bottom edge of the back of the gatefold cover where some of the edging is worn (but not split) in places because it has been stored vertically, NO wear to spine, NO creases except some light horizontal creases on the right side (outer edge) of the front cover (quite difficult to see unless you’re looking for them) which are not wear and tear but were created in the manufacturing process when the front of the cover was laminated onto the inner gatefold. I suggest this because there are NO corresponding creases on the inside of the gatefold! The cardboard is firm and strong. There is ZERO ringwear, and NO writing. There is a small price sticker near the top right corner of the back cover (see picture). The opening edges are straight with only MINIMAL edge wear! There is barely ANY rubbing, the cover is AMAZINGLY flat looking - AS NEW, barely ANY corner wear AT ALL. The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering! Most remarkable of all, even the unlaminated inside is in STUNNING condition with NO ringwear, NO writing, NO yellowing and NO grubbyness! I would have to rate the inside gatefold as MINT because it’s perfect. Amazing! The cover must grade Excellent+ if not better - which an ASTOUNDING grade - especially for this cover!

IT IS MASSIVELY RARE TO FIND THIS STEREO UK 1ST ISSUE IN THIS CONDITION! WHEN I SOLD “FIVE LEAVES LEFT” THE PURCHASER EMAILED ME TO ASK HOW I MANAGED TO KEEP COVER AND VINYL IS SUCH AMAZING CONDITION OVER 30+ YEARS! I THINK THE CONDITION OF THE COVER AND VINYL OF THIS COPY OF “PINK MOON” IS EVEN BETTER! DONT MISS OUT!

For packaging I use strong record boxes with extra stiffeners to stop damage and bends to the cover. All LPs are sent out with the record packed separately from the original cover to stop splits and damage to the cover.
