Description

Nick Drake - Stunning UN-PLAYED Heavyweight UK 1969 1st Press (A2//B2 Matrix) 'Five Leaves Left'. In Impossible Un-Played Vinyl Condition !!! With Correct Pink Textured Island Logo labels. Complete With Original 1st Press E. J. Day Gatefold Sleeve!! and Mint Original Poly Lined 'Patents' Inner Sleeve! The Best 1st Pressing of Nick's Debut Album You Will Ever See!!!

From my own pristine Nr Mint collection of rare 1960's & 70's Prog/Psych/Rock & Folk, you are bidding on one of the most sought -after UK 1st pressings of all time; the mega-scarce 'Five Leaves Left' the debut  album from the legendary Nick Drake. I'm almost positive that this will be the best example of this very rare record you will ever see for offer on eBay (or anywhere else for that matter). I have sold some very rare records from this amazing Mint- collection recently, and this ranks up there with the very best of them!!! As you all probably know by now, to find the UK 1st pressing of this record is an almost impossible event in itself. However, what you are bidding on here is a truly remarkable opportunity to own what can only be one of a handful of these legendary records left in stunning UN-PLAYED CONDITION!!! That's right, this record has been owned from new and has NEVER EVER BEEN PLAYED. IT IS IN MINT CONDITION - it has NO surface marks at all and NO spindle lines at all!!! It has only ever been out of the inner sleeve TWICE BEFORE!!! Once to check upon purchase on 1969 and once to check out and take the photos for this listing session. In between it has been professionally archived in a smoke and damp-free environment and never removed from its jacket. I don't like using the term Mint, however I am going to break my own rule here as this vinyl is pristine and perfect in every way, not a single mark on it anywhere - it could have just come straight from the pressing plant!!! Remember  - this is NOT the later pink rim re-pressing or the even later blue label repressing - this is the original mega thick & chunky UK pink label island 1st pressing!!! Due to the value of this record we will only consider shipping it via insured mail.

As you will have guessed from my ID, I am a big Nick Drake fan and I have what I consider to be one of the best UK 1st press collections of his 3 albums. These are from a collection that has been archived for the best part of 30 years (I had separate 'playing' copies) and I can guarantee you will never find more pristine pressings. Check put the rest of this amazing Mint collection here and do not hesitate to email me with any questions you may have!

As we all know Nick's tragic story now I won't bother with pages & pages of text on this; if you are reading this then I'm sure you are as familiar with Nick's life as I am. I guess we should just be thankful for the small but beautiful body of work he left us with.  As we all know, Nick's 3 records sold poorly upon release, some estimate that each album literally sold in the hundreds, whatever the case, to find any original 1st pressing of these three records is always a very rare event. Don't miss this opportunity!!! This record is almost always found on later flimsy vinyl with repress labeIs nowadays, it is almost impossible  to find on the original UK 1st press Pink Island labels with 1st press 1060's Eye logo's anymore, however in stone-cold Mint un-played condition..?  If you have never heard this record, it will blow you away!!! An absolutely essential (and very rare) folk classic record to own!!!

As you would expect from an UN-PLAYED record, the all-important centre labels are Mint superb with NO Peeling, NO Lifting NO Grubbyness and NO unwanted writing/scribbles of any kind. The labels have the 1st press matt finish and have NO SPINDLE LINES AT ALL - STONE COLD MINT CONDITION!!! The centre spindle holes and gramophone rims are also Mint-!!!

The un-played quality thick & chunky 1st press vinyl (it is very heavy) looks an sounds absolutely stunning it is also n STONE COLD MINT CONDITION!!!  Remember - this is the earliest 1st press, straight from the master, it will therefore sound much louder and defined than all the weaker later re-pressings.  I cannot emphasise how very difficult it is to find 1st press copies of this LP that have not been played to death, on the rare occasions that the do turn up they are full of nasty scratches and gouges. This one is NOT!!! It looks absolutely stunning with a deep 'just pressed' shine and and is again in straight MINT UN-PLAYED CONDITION- as simple as that!!! There are NO hairlines, NO scuffs/scratches, NO Bag-rash NO paper lines - NOTHING!!! No blemishes at all - net even the smallest mark!!!! it is in pristine un-played Mint condition!!!! You will not find a more STUNNING UK 1st pressing of this record!!! It will grace any UK 1st press collection of the very highest quality!!!

Of course this STUNNING 1st press would not be complete without its 1st press un-laminated E. J. Day gatefold sleeve! Due to Islands Records policy of non-lamination around this time, these sleeves suffered absolutely terrible wear and always turn up totally worn out and really lame looking. In fact I strongly doubt that more than a handful exist in Mint- condition anymore. This one is in Excellent- condition. It has the normal light to moderate wear you'd expect from this sleeve. There are NO Seam Splits, NO Tears, absolutely NO writing/scribbles and NO tape or tape marks.  All in all, a very nice example of this very rare and fragile sleeve with no major faults except the edge/corner wear this sleeve is famed for. Of course this rare LP comes with its Original and correct Atlantic 'Made in England' & 'British Patent' poly-lined windowed inner sleeve! This is also Nr Mint, with NO creases, NO seam splits, Perfect sharp corners and poly inner lining still firmly attached!!! Please check out our feedback and bid with confidence as this is a no reserve auction with a very low starting price!

Please refer to my 100% feedback rating for the many valuable records I have already sold for reassurance. I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition and many have 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK at a £2.99 start with No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment for the best part of 20-30 years!

All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!

We always combine postage so if you win more than 1 auction you save money on postage costs! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
